This Stuffed Torta del Casar is a feast of flavors, combining the creaminess of the cheese with the juiciness of beef and the freshness of tricolor peppers. An irresistible delight for any occasion!
Ingredients
- 1 Retorta del Casar
- 100 g ground beef
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1/2 yellow bell pepper
- 1/2 small onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme)
Directions
- Wash and cut the red, green, and yellow peppers into thin strips.
- Peel and slice the onion into julienne strips.
- Peel and mince the garlic cloves.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until golden.
- Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and fully cooked. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
- Add the peppers and sauté over medium-high heat until they are tender but still crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Carefully cut off the top of the Torta del Casar as if you were removing a lid.
- Use a spoon to scoop out some of the cheese, creating a space for the filling.
- Mix the cooked beef with the sautéed peppers.
- Stuff the Torta del Casar with this mixture, pressing down lightly to distribute it evenly.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the stuffed Torta del Casar on a baking sheet and bake for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve the stuffed Torta del Casar hot, with crusty bread or a fresh salad.
