Butifarra Pizza

Reinvent your pizza night with butifarra in slices, melted cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions. A gourmet twist on the classic pizza!e

Ingredients:

– 1 pizza base (homemade or store-bought)

– 200 g of Catalan butifarra (sliced)

– 150 g of shredded mozzarella cheese

– 100 g of shredded Manchego cheese (optional for a Spanish touch)

– 100 g of bacon (sliced)

– 2 large onions (caramelized)

– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

– 1 tablespoon of brown sugar (for caramelizing the onions)

– A pinch of salt

– Tomato sauce (for the pizza base)

– Dried oregano to taste

Procedure:

1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).

2. Caramelize the onions:

– Slice the onions thinly.

– In a skillet, add olive oil and onions. Cook over medium-low heat.

– Add brown sugar and a pinch of salt. Cook until the onions are golden and caramelized (about 15-20 minutes). Set aside.

3. Cook the butifarra and bacon:

– In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Set aside.

– Cook the sliced Catalan butifarra until nicely browned.

4. Prepare the pizza base:

– Spread a layer of tomato sauce over the pizza base.

– Sprinkle a mix of mozzarella and Manchego cheese over the sauce.

5. Add the toppings:

– Evenly distribute the sliced butifarra, crispy bacon, and caramelized onions over the cheese.

6. Bake the pizza:

– Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is crispy.

7. Finish with oregano:

– Once out of the oven, sprinkle some dried oregano for an aromatic touch.

8. Serve and enjoy:

– Slice it up and enjoy this delicious pizza with a Spanish twist!
