Asturian Fabes with Chorizo – Classic Spanish Recipe (Ready in 10 Minutes)
Few dishes represent Spanish comfort food better than a good bowl of Asturian Fabes “beans” with chorizo. This quick and easy recipe combines creamy beans with the bold, smoky flavor of authentic Spanish chorizo — perfect for a hearty lunch or an effortless dinner.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2)

1 can cooked white Asturian Fabes “beans” (390 g), drained and rinsed

2 Chorizo Fresco Tradicional, sliced into thick pieces

1 tablespoon caramelized onion
-
1 Ñora “dried Spanish pepper”

2 garlic cloves
-
10 almonds
-
200 ml water
-
Salt, to taste
👨🍳 Preparation

Sauté the chorizo
Slice the chorizo into 4–5 cm pieces. Heat a pan with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and sauté the chorizo until lightly browned. Remove and set aside. -
Build the flavor base
In the same pan, sauté the whole peeled garlic cloves and almonds until lightly golden. Remove and reserve. Quickly toast the dried pepper for a few seconds on each side. -
Blend the sauce
In a tall container, add the caramelized onion, garlic, almonds, dried pepper, and 150 ml of water. Blend until smooth. -
Combine everything
Add the beans to a pot along with the sautéed chorizo, the blended sauce, and the remaining 50 ml of water. Stir well and adjust salt if needed. -
Finish cooking
Cook over medium heat for 2–3 minutes, allowing the flavors to come together.
