Tetilla Cheese is a type of cheese that originated in the Galicia region of northwest Spain. It is a soft, creamy cheese made from cow’s milk, and is characterized by its distinctive tetilla or “little breast” shape.
The cheese is traditionally made using whole, raw cow’s milk that has been curdled using animal rennet. After the curds have formed, they are heated and then molded into the characteristic tetilla shape, which resembles a small, rounded pyramid with a flattened top. The cheese is then salted and aged for a period of several weeks, during which time it develops a thin, natural rind.
Tetilla cheese has a mild, slightly tangy flavor and a smooth, creamy texture that is similar to that of a young Brie or Camembert. It is often served as a table cheese, either on its own or accompanied by bread, crackers, or fruit. It can also be used in cooking, and is often melted over dishes like grilled meats or vegetables.
Tetilla cheese is considered a protected designation of origin (PDO) product, which means that it can only be made in the Galicia region of Spain using traditional methods and ingredients.

I tried Tetilla Cheese in Galicia, Spain a few years ago. I had it with Membrillo (Quincy Pate) and crackers. I loved it! I was craving for that savory/sweet combination with a creamy texture so I looked online and was so happy (and lucky) to find it online at Jamones Sin Fronteras.
After about 5 days, the cheese arrived packaged in a box and inside, it was wrapped in an aluminum packing bag with 3 ice packs to keep it cool. Brilliant! The cheese stayed cold and firm.
The quality of the cheese was the same as the first Tetilla Cheese I tried in Galicia. It was firm and easy to slice but remained creamy in the center. I had it with Guava Pate (a good substitute for Membrillo) on top of Saltine Crackers. I finished the entire cheese within a week! I highly recommend the Tetilla Cheese from Jamones Sin Fronteras.
